ATU Support Sends Wrong Message

Saskatoon mayoral candidate Kelley Moore has received an official endorsement from the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 615. This, in itself, is not particularly newsworthy or unprecedented. In defence of herself, Moore rightly claims that other mayoral candidates – including Don Atchison and Charlie Clark – have also respectively received some union endorsement.

What sets Moore’s situation apart and is particularly troubling though, is that the ATU is the only one out of nine bargaining units under the employ of the City of Saskatoon that has yet to reach agreement on a new contract.
